We ‘fightered out our advertising program!

The custom motorcycle industry generates millions of dollars every year, and believe it or not – motorcycles are still gaining in popularity! According to the Motorcycle Industry Council, the number of American households that own motorcycles jumped an astonishing 26% since 2003! In the same time, the number of motorcycles in the U.S. grew 19% to over 10 million. With over 10 million motorcycles in America, there’s a lot of money to be made in parts and accessories. Another interesting trend, is that the median income of motorcycle owners has gone from $25,600 in 1985 to $55,850, meaning there is a lot more potential profit available in the market now than at any other time.

These days, it’s difficult to find money to invest in advertising, and in the past, there haven’t been many good options for advertising to the American streetfighter scene. The current ‘fighter mags are based on the other side of the world where there are many local shops that have been in business since the beginning of the ‘fighter movement. There’s just no way to compete in that venue and still make a profit.  As you know CF moved our magazine online, and many other companies are doing the same. Recent studies have confirmed our suspicion that printed advertising simply cannot compete with online advertising for a web-based business. The conversion rates on the internet are far greater and have been proven to bring more sales. Custom Fighters cannot exist without the support of our sponsors, and our sponsors cannot exist without making sales on a regular basis. It is our mission to drive targeted traffic to our sponsors websites to help them do as much business as possible.

We have spent a lot of time reading the advertising statistics from the past few years, as well as studying advertising and marketing in general to find out what works best with online advertising, and we have completely remodeled our advertising program around this information to maximize our advertisers exposure and boost their traffic and profits.

The first and most important change to our advertising program, is that we are no longer selling advertising by banner views. Instead, when you purchase an ad placement, your ad will be the only one that is displayed in that spot for the entire month. We have several different monthly placements available on a first come first serve basis. We are now offering several placements that are only shown to people who are not logged into the site (known as guests). Over 90,000 different people view our site each month, but many of the page views are used up by the 8,000+ members of the forum. If you’ve been a sponsor for a long time, many of these people have already seen your ad, and already have your website bookmarked – what you need is to find NEW prospective clients. By advertising directly to the guests of the site, you are targeting the 80,000 non-forum members, exposing your company to a large audience of different people.
