Your motor makes more than twice the power though! I paid $200nz for my ZZR600 motor (well, complete bike after a frontal) so I reckon you've done real well!
I won't lie to you mate, I have raised the rear end approx .75" using a large nylock nut mounted beneath the rear shock mounting in the frame, it just didn't have the stance!
Make sure to make a decent jig for when you weld the subframe together mate, or do the welding with the subframe mounted to the frame... otherwise you´ll have it moving all over the place and distorting with the heat.
