Default Markopollo's 06 Gsx600f Build

Hello all,

I'll be starting my project in the next little while. Layed the bike down pretty hard in October after not driving it for about 18 months. I had a wrist surgery and was taking some time to recoup but as the season was coming to an end I figured I'll take the bike for a burn and cycle through the old gas, then top her up for winter storage.

To make a long story short, I didn't really do a pretrip, my rear tire pressure was apparently quite low and after I had been riding about 40km my tire separated from the rim when going around a corner.

Let this be a lesson to all to do your pretrips!

Most of the parts will be here by April. Here's what I've got coming so far. Most of this stuff is just to get the bike back on the road.

Used:
Left handlebar controls (off 06 katana)
Left driver's footpeg (off an 05 katana)
Gear shifter (off an 05 katana)
Rear grab bar (off an 04 katana)
Rear tail failing (off an 05 katana)
OEM seat (off an 05 katana)
Twin Dominator Headlights

New:
Metzeler z6 120/70/zr17 front tire
Metzeler z6 160/60/zr17 rear tire
Hayabusa clear tail light assembly

Carbon fiber tree overlay

Bar mounted mirrors with integrated LED signals

On the list (next few months):
Replace the front levers
Replace the grips
Replace the exhaust (probably with a Delkevic 14 stubby carbon fiber)
Purchase a front fender and mod it
Mod the fairing and replace the h3 projectors to h4 retrofit projectors to enable hi/lo beam
Replace left engine cover
Frame sliders
Drop the bar mounted mirrors and mount flsh indicators on the fairing
Bar end mirrors

Still deciding if I'm going to used the existing guages or upgrade to a Koso RX-1N.

Scrapped the PUIG Streetfighter II front end because the shipping was going to cost as much as the piece.

Goind with dominator matte with some nice brackets. And a baraccuda flyscreen that needs some tlc. This way I can stick with the output I get with the H4's and can use the wiring that pre-sxists.

Debated putting h4 retrofit morimoto projectors into the the puig utilizing its existing mounting hardware for the H3 projectors that are in there. The shipping was too outrageous from England.

Glad that you scraped the first headlight idea....that thing was far to big and bulky.

Almost ready to roll. I'm upload some pics in the next week here. Just finishing up on a few last-minute hangups for the guage and electrical, and waiting for a front fender.

Totally wish I didn't scrap my original fender, it had a crack and some rash... figured they'd be like $70 to replace. Oh was I wrong.
