Yea that was the same version i had. I suppose it's easier in my case because I'll be designing the whole bike around that system, instead of trying to modify existing components to work.

Again, love the work so far! Keep it up.

I'm thinking you need to tighten the 'restraint adjuster' on your right wrist and you won't need anything else.

Niiiiiiiiiiice skills! And on a genuine old-school ride, to boot! You have no idea how much I appreciate that. In my region of the space-time continuum there are a few of us of the 'old school' pursuasion...and fewer still who riiiiide 'em. Nice to see that bike getting ridden like it was designed to be ridden; and good to see that my small group is not alone in the universe.

it was a much different beast with the skinny 18s on it. i used to slide it around like a flat tracker and could only wheelie it with the aid of a hill or a hard launch. Now i cant spin the tire but it will come up in 1st no problem

i had planned on getting some good vids of the bike but i had camera issues at the end of the summer. probably had something to do with mounting it on my drz for some "spirited" riding. I do have a long vid somewhere of when i wreck the gpz(tank camera) and put a guard rail I beam through my chest, fun times. walked away from it, only 12 stitches.

here a few more for you though

Haaaa! Outstanding! I had an '83 when I lived out in L.A. Ran that thing with my friends through the canyons and it was fantastic. I regret selling that bike (probably) worst of every bike that I've ever sold...if I ever get a shot at another one, I'd like to do something like what you're talking about...talk about a 'sleeper', eh?! Ha!
Are you in the process of the motor transplant on your GPz, yet???

...sorry!

I know just exactly what you mean. My 'J' was pretty 'excitable' before I put the 5.00 17" rear on it with the 17" inverted ZX9R front end...sticky rubber does wonders for handling. It did have a bit of an opposite effect on wheelies, though...spongy suspension on a tall bike with low gearing allowed me to 'snatch' first gear wheelies on the stock stuff easy enough. But the lighter wheels, stickier tires, 530-chain conversion helped to over-come the (sliiiiiiightly) lowered stance and it can do similar - yet more controlled - first gear power wheelies
...plus, now when it comes down, it settles in instead of sponging its way onto the pavement. The 17s on the 'J' make it feel like a smaller, lighter, more managable bike.
