two more things, the turbo im using is larger than the factory turbo kaw used, doesnt help. and that aluminum mid fairing on the stock 750 turbos, is actually structural and cast aluminum. im not sure if they modded the lower frame where the turbo is but they felt they needed that so im guessing the moved something around down there

comments/questions are always welcome. More often than not i overlook something important:-D.
If you are interested about turbocharging anything there is a great book called Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. Tons of great info in there about everything. matt 83gpz750 turbo http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ead.php?t=4541 Parts build-off headlight http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ad.php?t=28354 Discussion http://www.customfighters.com/forums...499#post493499 Parts build-off gauge http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ad.php?t=29821 Discussion http://www.customfighters.com/forums...413#post532413 |

I think the first picture you posted showing your header being made (think it was page 6) was a great start. ----V
![]() But as soon as you cut back too far and wraped that plate around it, I think you just killed your header pipe. ![]() I think you should have atleast got some pipe that was pre-bend and took your time with a collector to the turbo. What you got now doesnt look so good man. You have a great idea and concept, but that header looks like crap man. You can do better then that

there just isnt enough room spyder, believe me this isnt how i wanted to do it at all(and it may change several times). I even played around with taking the tubes away from the motor out to the sides and i just couldnt get it back to the turbo. I actually bought some prebent tubing for this with that in mind but i just didnt/dont have the room
![]() . If the turbo was mounted the other way(intake on the left) how i started would have worked just fine, but what you dont see is the exit from all the tubes actually needs to go back towards the motor.(like the paintbrush pic i attached). After xmas im going to take a good look at a factory 750turbo and take pics/measurements of where they put their turbo and how deep the sub oilpan actually is. Im thinking the frame on the front is actually different but i wont know until i go take a look at one. I think shortly im going to buy a roll bender and i will be able to make some tight radius bends that i just may be able work with. My other option is using heavy sch40 weld-els. I dont want to but they have some really tight bends so i may have to. thanks for the comments, they are appreciated. matt 83gpz750 turbo http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ead.php?t=4541 Parts build-off headlight http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ad.php?t=28354 Discussion http://www.customfighters.com/forums...499#post493499 Parts build-off gauge http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ad.php?t=29821 Discussion http://www.customfighters.com/forums...413#post532413 |

Did you try and look for a turbo'd header for that bike at all? ![]() The "For Sale" list people, check it out The FZR Fighter---> http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ad.php?t=24258 03-05 R6 or R6S Vortex rear sprocket http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ad.php?t=30202 speakers and amps for sale http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ad.php?t=30239 Gas tank camera mount http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ad.php?t=30255 |

Great build! 10 outta 10 in my book.
-KR BTW: I've got a line that I'm working on to get a (totally roached-out) 750 Turbo from a friend...it's my kind of bike b/c it's soooo freakin' rough that 'fightering it will be considered a 'save' and not 'sacrelege' by the purists. If I get it I'll have to drop you pics, you won't believe the physical condition...it's gross!

not at all man. i appreciate all comments. When i get the chance im going to turn the turbo around. it will make routing the intake a serious pain because it will have to tuck between the header and the engine but it will make the exhaust line a little easier because it will be more of a straight shot. who knows. i still may end up with a factory header and sub oil pan, but thats the easier way out

Thanks Kaw! I have seen some rough(fire damage) bikes. hopefully you can bring that turbo back to life. I know parts arent the easiest to find ![]() good luck with it. matt 83gpz750 turbo http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ead.php?t=4541 Parts build-off headlight http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ad.php?t=28354 Discussion http://www.customfighters.com/forums...499#post493499 Parts build-off gauge http://www.customfighters.com/forums...ad.php?t=29821 Discussion http://www.customfighters.com/forums...413#post532413 |

The bike actually belonged to me for a few months, but then I sold it; had no idea that I would miss that pig, but I do. I had fantasized about yanking the front fairing off and going 'fighter, but had my reservations...now seeing your spectacular results I MUST get it back. When my purist buddies hack on me for not just re-painting it to make it "correct", I'll come whining to this forum for some propper complements. ![]() -KR BTW: your seat looks comfy, but a bit 'tall' in the saddle.
