CustomFighters.com 2nd Annual Streetfighter Buildoff
by:929_Adam

Well fighters, another winter is upon us....and you know what that means. NO RIDING! Booo! I know, I know, it really sucks. But, one good thing about no riding is it gives us ample time to tear down our bikes and fix em up after a whole season of hooliganery and fighter abuse. That also means that its time for the SECOND ANNUAL WINTER STREETFIGHTER BUILDOFF!! The contest is running from January 1st ( you can enter late) until May 15th (you cant finish late). We already have a couple entrants, including an oil boiler Gsxr, a 7/11 Gsxr, a Kawi Z1000, and a Triumph 955i.
There are a few rules to the contest. To enter, you will need to post a new thread in the 2008 Buildoff entries forum with the title in this format:
Username's Year Manufacturer Model - "Build Title"
EXAMPLE:

929_adam's 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa - "Project Hide-The-Busa"

You MUST post a picture of the project bike with a newspaper dated January 1st, 2008 (or later) visible in the picture. Totl cost of build, including bike, parts, and any outside work must be between $500-$10,000. Builders will document their build with photos and a write up of what was done. Not only is this friendly competition a good source of inspiration to get your bike finished, but it provides great reference for other fighters to look into. Sponsors, MOTO-MADNESS, XPO STREETFIGHTER, STREETFIGHTER MAGAZINE,  will be hooking up some prizes for the winner including a new Craft helmet or Pazzo lever set, StreetFighter Magazine subscriptions and Shirts, CustomFighters.com shirts and stickers. We will let everyone know of more sponsors and prizes as they come. Last year turned out to be a  good amount of booty for the winners!
There will be coverage of the event in Streetfighter Magazine and our up and coming publication CustomFighters Magazine. So if you want a chance to see your bike in a publication read by fighters all over the world, this is it! Not only will your build be documented on the website, but also immortalized in print! What's better than that?!
The judging this year will be set up differently than last year, as it was something of concern having members vote for the bikes they liked. We are assembling a panel of streetfighter judges to score your bikes on specified criteria. We already have confirmation from XPO Streetfighter and Streetfighters Inc. with more to be added. These judges are all really into streetfighters so there's no worry of unfair judging.
A bunch of our fighterers mentioned they want to build up their cafe-fighters this winter, so there will be an optional category for that as well providing there are entrants.
I myself have a BoOsa to work on, but it wont be entered since I cant win anyway, but I'll be tearing down this winter as well folks. So put down the pipe or the bottle, pick up the toolbox, get your ass outta that winter funk, and start the fightering! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with, as I KNOW there are going to be more beautiful bikes turned out this year. Do work fighters!
