Music Review: The Dolly Rots

Hailing from Los Angeles, The Dolly Rots are a Punk band with a Pop Groove and a tongue–n-cheek approach to their lyrics and life.

Chris Black: Drums

Are touring nation wide in support of their latest album “Because I’m Awesome” on Blackheart Records, 2007. With the lead track winning Little Steven’s Underground Garage’s (Sirius Radio) “Coolest Song In The World 2007” vote.

Ok, enough of the facts, now for the flavor. I like this band and if you were into bands like Joan Jett, the Donnas, Babes in Toyland or the Runaways, you’ll like The DollyRots.

Kelly is cute as hell and sweet as could be, but you can tell she’d be just as likely to bust you in the head for testing her resolve as whisper sweet nothings if she were sweet on you. She’s been nominated for Blender.com’s Hottest Women of Rock and PETA’s World Sexiest Vegetarian 2007 and you can tell she’s just a lil nutz by the way she plays with her butterfly knife.
Luis and Chris round out the trio with solid playing, yes these guys have skilz, and personalities that make talking to the band just as entertaining as listening to their music.
