Ahh January, the stuff that resolutions are made of. It seems that almost everyone begins the year with a stern resolution to do this or that. Of course, by this time next month a lot of those resolutions will be a thing of the past for most people.
This year I made only one resolution and I have every intention to make this one a reality, I resolve to call in well to work at least once in 2008. I will call my boss and tell him that I feel entirely too good to be at work, and the weather is too good to not be on my bike. I plan this for sometime later in the spring but I truly feel I can follow through with this one. Aside from that resolution I have taken the opportunity to look to the start of this New Year as a fresh start, a new beginning of sorts. 2007 was probably the worst year of my life from an emotional and financial standpoint. I have let some things fall to the wayside as I wallowed in the memories of others. But now I start fresh. I grew apart from my motorcycle club over 2007, and am currently on a leave of absence. I am still reevaluating the pluses and minuses that come with life in a M/C. I have gained a new focus on my projects. My garage workshop is coming along, and I now have some fabrication capabilities. I am working on gaining the knowledge to use the capabilities, but I have already picked the name for my garage. Goon’s Ghetto-Fab, and one goal is to have a least one project this year for someone else that pays me something, anything even if it is a buck; hell I work on bikes as a hobby but it would definitely be a milestone to receive some form of payment. |

Baby steps….. but my Eleanor project is taking shape, and my mind wanders down the road to Chloe. Ahhh Chloe she will be something I tell ya, sexy and lean but a fast girl she will be. But, I don’t want to get too far ahead (besides, I have to build the interest in my build). It seems this year begins as an open slate, one that I can fill in as I go, and so far the slate is looking good. Another goal for the year is to organize my projects in a logical manner, currently on the books I have approximately four bikes and one four wheeled build planned. Now it is time to organize them into some sort of system, my old lady has offered to take on this task, and since I still wake up with new projects and ideas dreamed up I will take her up on this one, I will tell her the project idea, and she can start the file on it. Yup, things are changing around the Goon compound. Good or bad you never know what will come, so you can only plan, strategize, and move forward. In that way Life is like a motorcycle…. No reverse. So enjoy the new year, the new beginning, and what ever is next. |
