Interview with Extreme Creations of Australia

Extreme Creations was started by master craftsman, Ben Shaw. He had spent 10 years as a Engineering Patternmaker in the Vacuum forming industry and also worked in a garage on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Within two years, word had spread so much, that Extreme Creations needed a larger, fully equipped facility in order to meet the growing demand, so the current location in Brookvale, Sydney was opened, and business still has not stopped growing!

Just recently, Ben set out to build a completely over the top balls to the wall streetfighter.... and so the Judge was born:

Ben Shaw was nice enough to take time out of his (very) busy day to answer a few questions for our newsletter:

1. What is your age? 35
2. When did you first open the shop? 1998
3. What is your main ride? Venom TLR
4. How do you have that bike set up? Loud Streetfighter, hooligan bike
5. How long have you been riding? 30yrs
6. Why/how did you start? Dirt bikes as a kid.
7. What was your first bike? The first bike I actually owned was a Yamaha DT200
8. Favorite bike? mmmmmmmmmmmmm... hard one I like Kawasaki's so ZX 636 7 9 10 12 14... I can't decide, actually I haven't built it yet...
9. Favorite motorcycle builder and/or shop (besides yourself)? I wouldn't say I have a favorite, but I like some of the wacky things Lazereth does.
10. Favorite custom motorcycle out on the scene now or recently? Mine ( Judge )
11. Favorite motorcycle manufacturer? Kawasaki
12. Favorite motorcycle-related event? ASF April Fools Run, Australian Moto Gp
13. How do you feel about the custom bike scene? Definitely growing rapidly, & people's view on streetfighters is changing for the better.ie: not just a cheap way to get a crashed bike back on the road but a respected style of custom bike.
14. What do you and/or your shop do for the motorcycling community? Try & advise people the right way to do something, whether it benefits me or not.
15. Future goals/aspirations? To grow Extreme Creations through more automation, because time ( lack of ) is all that's holding us back.
16. Do you wear gear when you ride? Simpson helmet( super bandit or Diamond Back ) Icon jacket & gloves ,Draggin Jeans Cargos, & my crappy old Frank Thomas boots.
17. Do you prefer fuel injected or carb'd? Definitely EFI ( good for turbos)
18. Other Hobbies and Interests? My family, any fast motorsport.
19. Whats your riding season like? Year round
20. The Judge is easily one of the most over the top, balls to the wall streetfighters ever built. Now that you've done that, what's the next project you have in mind? Can't tell you , but it's going to be a Kawasaki... unless it's a Suzuki...
