Re: Italianeze build off thread

frame in the jig awaiting the arrival of its engine

the requisite 24deg

dropped some bits on for a look

still not been able to explain myself well enough to get a sprocket position in frame from the swingarm pivot, i,ll try marking up this pic tomorrow

As I cant do feck all with frame till I have engine, lets look at forks, wheel has a 25mm spindle, so diout afew mock up sleeves for forks and wheel

and assemble using 20mm screwed rod

looks like disc dia matches and the spare set of Ti caliper bolts are spot on , just need to tighten things up to get a yoke pitch

fuel pump to suit the tank arrived too

Re: Italianeze build off thread

got this for a price I couldn,t refuse, sold some stuff to but it

risers are split , and 1 1/8" holes cut

keys cut to align risers

drawings done for the rest, but that will wait until they are bolted to the top yoke

Re: Italianeze build off thread

I attempted to get my for spacing today, let me crack on with yokes, but unfortunately , not only are Ducati spec calipers a diff pitch, they are narrower too, so my caliper spacing blocks will need skimmed

discs are 5.5 thick

I,ll sort that Monday

Re: Italianeze build off thread

calipers centred on the discs

dig out the joe blocks

216mm pitch is a starting point

will need a couple of hours messing about to get the forks parallel

and Seb made a thing from my 3d model

cheers guv

Re: Italianeze build off thread

stage one complete, fair bit still to do

ten at night and I cant be arsed drawing up the mount for the muddie

nearly got the top started .... but my billet was too bastard short , needs to order more loominum

Re: Italianeze build off thread

pop a little weight off of it

two holes will be tapped to mount the muddie, 3rd one will be in bottom of stem, combined with a sandwich plate to keep it proper secure

still a good bit of work left in it yet

Re: Italianeze build off thread

engine only had two clutch springs , so got Wullie to order a set

they came in, heavy dooty , best start the grip work just now

pop them lightly in just now

Re: Italianeze build off thread

popped the old gsxr1000 arm in for mock up brainstorm, Its sitting at 13 deg, using the position of the original top suspension mount i should be able to have the shock at about 33 deg, which matches new hypers. I,ll need to make sure of clearance with tank and fuel pump , but it looks ok

Re: Italianeze build off thread

I deff don,t need these brackets, they are for multistrada bits

i will dress them properly when i get a new flap disc

trimmed down the rear of the frame too, level with the vertical rails , this let the tank shuffle forwards nearer where I want it

Re: Italianeze build off thread

possibly to be re-purposed Ducati frame tube

sharp raggies removed , half finished risers fitted to top yoke, just need the M14 cap screws and i can get them finished finished

lock stops will wait till its on the ground, the underside of the top yoke may be thinned down, if needed later in the game

clamp holes and slots next

Re: Italianeze build off thread

i had an old TL frame in the loft, insurance right off, can,t be used

lets chop the pivot end off

offered it up , on the off chance it would look ok..... yes i could make it work, but it isn,t what i want

what it does do is give a pivot point to suit the engine

I had the top rear mounts drawn up, forgetting its a twin and the exhaust hangs out back, I,ll nip into shop and collect the bit of rear pipe i have for a check

turns out its an R motor I have , not an S as i thought, that,ll explain the R throttle bodies , the give away is the blanked off oil cooler feeds and water feeds at the oil filter
