I have one of the HF carts that's similar to that. I use the top for parts storage, so i don't open it much. I did bolt a piece of plywood to the top so I could set a motor on top and use it as a cleaning station. When I'm not using the cart, it's tucked under a bench like yours. I decided it was easier to cut the latch so the lid could stay shut 99% of the time, and I could still use the drawers.

I miss being able to buy my kid clothes from the closeout sections, he had all the cool "last season, size small/medium" Fox, O'Neil, etc gear for many years

Now he's almost bigger than me, dude needs to get a job... !!
