Exactly.

Dirt bikes are for dirt. Street bikes are for street.

I'm lucky that I can have more than one bike.

and in between bikes like sumos are for both

then again, maybe the big dent in the front rim of my WR says otherwise

A steering damper dampens steering oscillations. If it starts to leak, it may become a steering dampener. There's no such thing as a dampner.

My experience has been that knobbies suck on the street, and street tires suck in the dirt. And those in-between tires suck at both street and dirt. Better than nothing, though.

I was hoping to use more of those cool spring hooks.

Problem is, I still don't know whether the next 2 bikes will use titanium or stainless. Not even sure Jeff or I will be able to get to the RZ500.

I'll have to figure it out, so the spring hooks only need to be cut one more time.

Billet +7mm stroker crankshaft with full ceramic bearings, ready to go.
Has a 30mm shaft, instead of the OEM 25mm.

part of why I ride street tires on the dirt is to get better at slicks on the dirt when I race SM

any downsides to going from 25mm to 30mm?

More rotating mass. Difference may just be academic though.

Agree, more rotating mass & more weight.

The company works mostly with drag engines and other race motors.

I'm guessing, at some point, an OEM-sized shaft twisted or snapped.

Pretty sure the engine I'm building won't need the extra beefy crank, but that's the way they're built.

Space is tight. Silencers are close to my foot. Might need a heel guard.

I'd like to see at least 1 inch of the triangle opening in the swingarm, just to the left of the silencers in this pic. Also want the angle of the silencers parallel to the (sub)frame tubing.

New silencers can be smaller than these mockup silencers.

Not sure yet about triangle, vs hexagonal, vs round silencers.
