Default 99 R1 gR1tty

Here is the beginning of my build.

I got this wrecked bike for a song and dance. So I thought to myself lets see what we can do!

Here is how I got it. Rims shattered, not a single piece of plastic left and won't even turn over.

This thing is going to be a hodge podge of parts I have laying around, hence the name gR1tty.

I forgot to mention that the motor in the pic is from a wrecked race bike. 1052 cc cp pistons, carillo rods, hot cams and was dyno tuned. Not sure on the rwhp as it was in storage for a few years before I got it.

So I cleaned out the carbs and flushed the coolant and oil. Surprising no rust, this is why I love the desert!

Hopefully I can get a startup video for you guys!

Well I made so pretty good headway. Motor is running. Got some wheels from an 03 R1 installed, derusted and painted a banged up tank, got all the brakes working and started fabing up a battery/electronics under seat tray. I cut off all the bent subframe and I will use a R6 tailight.

Oh I also installed some bar end mirrors and use the old bar end caps as spools for the rear swing arm. Waste not want not!

Also I just threw on a extra seat I have, but I ordered a longer one. I am debating on putting a cowling on it or just leaving it. Once I get the actual seat we will see.
