Can you use two lowers? I might have a pair of F2 / F3 lowers hanging around.

for brake/shift levers you'll want some sort of bush but I don't think you need a roller element bearing. I've seen those but they're uncommon.

A steering damper dampens steering oscillations. If it starts to leak, it may become a steering dampener. There's no such thing as a dampner.

I would use needle roller bearings in that application.

Sounds right to me. They ain't cheap, but a bushing won't cut it.

Where's Julian when you need him? He'll be your man for ideas on geometry too.

Most of the 90's Hondas use hte same part# needle bearing in the rear suspension links. You can buy the links for a few bucks a piece on ebay, press the bearings out and reuse. They don't see much rotation on the rear suspension so if you grab a few clean low mileage ones you'll be golden. Bonus you get the dust seals too.

I'm going to leave these here:
http://www.lm-tarbell.com/history_of...ted_bronze.htm
https://www.nationalbronze.com/News/...onze-bushings/
https://www.ggbearings.com/en/faq/wh...ronze-bushings

Some old school tech that solved a packaging issue we were having on the race car 5 years ago. They are amazing at this type of application, but the needle rollers will work.

Nothing wrong with needle bearings, for sure. But tons of old bikes racked up many a mile on swingarms that used bushings. If budget is a concern, bushings can last a long time. My '76 CB750F had about 70k miles on it's plastic swingarm bushing when I sold it. Still tight.

A top hat style bushing can help sort out thrust surfaces as well. Needles will need additional thrust washers or something to keep things oriented.
