I believe 05/06 SV1000 rad is narrower than 03/04, I know it is on the 650

A steering damper dampens steering oscillations. If it starts to leak, it may become a steering dampener. There's no such thing as a dampner.

Don't worry Shiny, so far the build progress is very slow. I hope I can speed up a litle. I already miss her. The other two bikes have clip-ons and it's not for everyday use. I think I'm getting old

I was thinking to swap the radiator but I didn't know were to look. It will be sweet if I can add a bigger but norrower at the top and a triangle shaped oil radiator from a K9 1000. Thank you guys!

if you want I can put a tape measure across the rad on my 06 and tell you how wide it is. it's nothing fancy looking but they'll swap right on.

...but looking at the parts fiche I guess I was wrong, that's just a 650 thing. the radiator is the same part for 03-07.

First gen sv650 rad narrow as fuck. It doesn't protrude beyond the width of the frame, way more aesthetically pleasing, but you can't sit in traffic with it.

Look at some of the naked kawi shrouds off bikes from the last 5 years. They are pretty cool, and not overly large.

So the 650 rad it's not on my options . I will use the bike on a daily basis so I will need something bigger. I belive a rad from an other V2 bike will fit better since all the in line 4 would be wider. At least thats what the common sense should tell.

I realy like the look of the Z1000 especially the 2014<, but I don't want my bike feels like a Z. The reason I choose that headlight is because I fucking love it and the other reason is because there are not so many Z1000 2014< models on the street here at Greece, not many panigale on the streets too.
I believe that the successful build is when you can make all the parts flow like a factory bike but make it difficult to identificate what bike is.

you could just get a custom radiator made with lots of fins and thick, and then it would be just right.

Doesn't work that way. The thicker the radiator or the more dense the fins, the harder it is for the air to pass through it. The harder it is for the air to pass through, the more bypasses the radiator and the less cooling you have.
