there was a chopper i saw that had only one control on the bars, they were narrower than the tank. you'd cleave your knees off before the bars hit. can't find a picture though.

This thread is great. My 2c
To counter steer, you need to push on the bars.
To push in the bars, you need to, well, be able to push easy.
Bars need to be in a position for you to push forward easy. If you are nice and upright like on a fighter or motard, bars are higher and wider because your arms are bent.
On a race bike, you are leaning forward, hands are naturally lower to be able to push forward on the bars.
In short, IMO, forearms should be horizontal when riding to be able to push forward on the bars to counter steer.
