I used that tank bag and a backpack for a 12 day trip earlier this year on one of the gsxr's. My complaints about that tank bag would be the lack of water resistance (because it isn't), the rain cover is kinda useless since it leaked, the clear map cover area kept fogging up and I couldn't see my directions or phone when I tried using that. Otherwise it was great. The magnets are super strong so you need to be aware of how you put it on the bike because once it's down you really need to push to move it anywhere.

I've been using one of these for the last year -

http://www.northcoastwetsuits.co.uk/...-top-rucksack/

Living in Scotland, it rains every 20 minutes, so you need something waterproof.
But I also wanted light, and this is just a roll bag, so it doesn't get any lighter.

Its also quite narrow, so doesn't get caught in the wind blast.

Its also cheap - that was the most important for me!

I have a Cortech backpack I bought almost 15 years ago. Has a built in sling to carry your helmet and a pocket and opening for a Camelbak bladder and hose.

Used it for years as a normal bookbag for college texts books and thing has held up well. The only flaws are the rubber pulls on the zippers break after a bit.
