Every time I go to our production yard now I'm drooling over aluminum scraps. There are 250mm (~9") thick pieces of plate that come in a 2m by 2m sheet, they cut a 1.5 m hole out of the middle and scrap the rest...

I wish they'd sell me some, I'd pay twice the price of scrap

Isn't part of the point of lean mfg to reduce or recycle waste whenever possible?

Had to take classes on all that shit at IBM/EIT... Lean, 6Sigma, ISO protocols....
