Default 'Pedestrian Gobbler' Headlight Shroud

Hey hey! I really really wanted to enter the 900RR in the full buildoff .. but never got round to it! Anyway .. I thought I would try out the parts build-off because it seems rather sparse in here.

I thought up this idea a few months ago. It was originally intended for the motofighter ... but then ol 900RR came along and it needs something unique. Been flopping this idea around in my head for months and i've been incredibly antsy to get it down in metal!!

I had to modify the design a little bit because the free stainless steel i got from a local business is the alloy used to make bendy-knives so it is VERY VERY hard to bend to a certain shape. It only holds very tight bends. I felt that this would lend itself well to the final design, however, because it will hold its shape against wind resistance and debris. I modified the design into several (mostly) flat plates instead of having one bit bent plate at the front.

Original design drawn on napkin at airport bar Circa August 7th

Finally cut out pieces - Apr 11
I don't get the newspaper ... so hope this is sufficient timestamp!

Tacky tacky mc-tack tack. Spread, clamp, and more tack.

Bracketry tacketry. A little bit of warpage on the front face still not very good with sheetmetal i guess.

I reckon it'll be done by tomorrow afternoon!

mounted and done welding. started polishing but I really suck at polishing with this stupid hand drill polishing wheel. wish i had a bench polisher!! it's going very slowly .. but progressing.

Also .. i think it's a little tall for the clip-ons. trying to decide if I should lop 1" off the top pr leave as-is ...
