Default Host bike has smaller pivot bolt than donor bike...how to get around this?

Title says it. Donor is a 2005 GSXR600 and host is a 2003 ZR7S. The GSXR pivot bolt is 25mm. I haven't been able to confirm it yet but I am pretty sure the ZR7 bolt is 20mm.

Ideas?

Okay well I finally got the pivot bolt out of the ZR7 and it measures .782in. I cut the threaded end off the GSXR pivot bolt and it measured inside .775in. There's some rust inside the GSXR bolt, though...not much, but some. I might be able to sand .007in off both and make the GSXR bolt work as a bushing.

I don't think I'll have to actually cut any of the metal. Hadn't crossed my mind, but I actually dealt with this a couple years ago when I mounted a VFR750 swingarm on my GSXR1000. I cut the ends off the pivot bolt and used them to bush a 20mm R6 pivot bolt in the frame.

I think once I get all the rust out of the GSXR pivot bolt it'll work alright. My fear will be getting it all apart is I ever need to haha...maybe cut holes in the GSXR bolt so that grease will get in them.

I've done this before by remaking the spacers as top hat spacers. Don't need to meet in the middle, just support the gsxr central spacer at each end.

Does mean some machine time but I'd say neater and more reliable than hacking up the original tube, which will then have bare metal exposed to rust. Also lighter plus way easier to assemble.

Ps - stop measuring Japanese bikes in inches. You make shit way harder than it needs to be with your 712/838th BS.

You can find yourself trying to look for a .775" bearing when really you need a 20mm bearing.

It's just messy to mix units. You'd never order 2 litres of milk then express it as 2.113 quarts so why measure metric bearings and shafts in inches?
