Thinking about ditching the Panigale. It's just not my thing. Not as fun as the Hyper in the twisties, or around town... I use it for commuting, but the riding position isn't great for it and there's basically zero storage. Even with the tail bag it's always a compromise on what I can bring.
So basically it doesn't do anything well.

So I'm thinking either a Multistrada 1200 or a Hyper 939 SP with the panniers and windscreen from the Hyperstrada.
The Multi would be better suited for the job, I think... but it's nearly 100lbs heavier than the Hyper and feels a bit "old man" ish.
The 939 would be a more fun ride in general, but wouldn't be quite as comfortable and this is a commuter bike after all.

What do you guys think?

Do yesterday i had an interesting ride with two bikes.

The black one was 500cc 1941.
And red one was 1200cc, forgot the year
They are traveling to Indian owners gathering in Finland. Did 2100km before meeting me.

About why they met me... So im sitting outside at my inlaws where we spent summer and i notice these two wonderfull bikes riding past one of popular riding roads that is right at the end of fence. In few seconds i hear sounds that reminds me of crash. I run outside on road and see one bike down. So as any fellow biker would do, i run out to see if they are ok.

Turns out car in front decided to stop and reverse back to get in road. Panic brake and lady on black bike fell down the riad, spilling oil, bending crash bar and snapping plus kinking brake cable. Helped them bend the crash bar with rachet strap, tried to clean some oil with sand from kids sandbox. About the broken brake cable, after conversation we had when bending the crash bar back i got to know they are going to Finland. I knew i dont have my repair kit, i Called my dad and asked if he can help. So we ended up riding towards my parents and fixed the brake cable. Then i led them towards camping. They were happy and gratefull. I was happy to help, because i wouldnt be in their place

Get a Jap bike? Spec sheet may not look as good for bragging rights, but it'll work well in reality.

Friend has a 2015 Hyperstrada he's trying to sell. Wanted it for commuting instead of a sport bike but he's had some close calls during his commutes so he's done daily riding the street and prefers a proper sport bike for weekend joy rides, track days, and racing. I enjoyed it the one time I rode it but I don't think I'd want to live with one daily. Felt like a weird seating position to me. Really wide and flat. It's got under 5k miles and he's asking $8500 for it. I know we aren't near each other but if you want I can put you in touch with him either for a first hand review or for the purchase.

The GS's certainly have a solid following. I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to it if I found a crazy deal on one, but on the other hand I don't really see any major upsides to it over the MS. They're both big, heavy machines... the GS seems to have a better suspension while the MS claims 20hp more.
I think if I were actually getting into the ADV thing the GS would be the winner, but for highway commuting the Multi would be better suited.

Ehhhhh... I know this probably sounds pretentious as fuck, but they just don't excite me much anymore.
I don't think I'd have ever gotten into Duc's in the first place if that Hyper hadn't basically landed in my lap for free, but once I experienced it it was like "oh, that's why." Maybe it's just a placebo effect, but they really do feel better. The Pani feels soooo much more refined than even newer R1's and GSXR's.
And with the Hypermotard line specifically, I've yet to find an offering from another manufacturer that even fits in the same category. The Aprillia Shiver comes the closest, but not quite there. I've ridden FZ09's and stuff and it just doesn't do the job.

Hypermotard 1100S the weight-shavening.
