pipe is measured by *nominal* ID.

2" standard wall thickness pipe as an ID of approximately 2"... but all 2" pipe has the same OD, so the ID varies based on wall thickness.

2" tube has an OD of 2".

generally, tube is intended for structural purposes while pipe is for fluid transport, but that doesn't mean nobody uses it for the opposite purpose.

A steering damper dampens steering oscillations. If it starts to leak, it may become a steering dampener. There's no such thing as a dampner.
