Flap disc on an angle grinder for the bulk of it, then belt sander to make it level. Then power file to chamfer the teeth.

Dragged the engine underneath the frame this morning:

Got it bolted up and test fitted the airbox:

This is how the tank sits:

This is how it sits with the lid off:

So I'll either have to make an airbox or go for pods which I've read is an absolute bastard coz ram air.

She sits quite nicely on the moto stand:

Might sort this tomorrow:

Rear tyre fitted:

Test fitted the tail:

Also got RamAir pods... which is weird coz I won't be running Ram Air.
Anyway, they're too wide:

Was gonna stagger them and have the inner ones sitting slightly higher so they would clear the outer ones but that's not gonna work. I might have to shave the sides of the rubber bits so they'll sit next to each other. I'll sleep on it

I signed up at the weekend. One of my customers invited me to be a member of their motorbike group on there.

Thanks!

Got adjustable needles (coz pod filters) & happened to notice that they're almost identical to a PWK28 needle I had spare (the one without a clip on it):

Which is good coz it gives me options.

Carb rubbers refitted & twin filters ordered (thanks Yan):

Age-old streetfighter problem. Chain is out of line:

Only slightly according to the photo... But it's a little bit more in real life. So I got a Kawasaki front sprocket and turned it round so the offset is outwards & spaced it another 4mm:

The frame might be in the way a little bit.

Made up a silly little bracket for the chain guard:

Took off the old oil filter and no oil came out!

At all. There was a coating of oil but I was expecting at least a dribble.

Exhaust & Radiator fitted:

No room for balance pipes or cooling fan. Who the hell is in charge here!?

The rad can't go any further forward at the top or it'd hit the forks on lock:

So I was thinking of hanging a pusher fan on the front:

Looks like a good bit of space there.

And now she's actually on two wheels!

but the back is too high so when it's on the stand it looks drunk:

in the case of chain vs most things, chains are self clearancing

this is especially true when it's hitting aluminum

A steering damper dampens steering oscillations. If it starts to leak, it may become a steering dampener. There's no such thing as a dampner.

unless you have a steel frame, then you end up pushing your chainless bike off the TT course at Hillbury

520 chains are good for making a little extra space
