Holy shit. You turned her in to a long range tank. What's she hold now?...10 gallons?

Dang man, glad you wasn't hurt! That's been quite a bang I imagine. My friend once sprained his shoulder tossing petrol onto a "lumberjack's candle" from an old oil jug that had just a drop left, the fumes ignited and the jug shot backwards like from a cannon. Also a good remined to never weld an empty tank, always fill it with something. Hell even gas if it's to the brim, liquid fuel doesn't burn.

Yea that’s a lesson I just learned the hard way. Probably one of the most expensive mistakes made. These tanks are hard to find but I was able to get another one

At least you're okay mate

Could be worse. Everything happens for a reason etc. All that cliche stuff.

Where I'm concerned the reasons are usually play stoopid games, win stoopid prizes

I've been lucky welding tanks over the years, don't like doing it tho

That was a close call, no disrespect but it made me laugh as it reminded me of the time many years ago when a mate was soldering a leak in an old tank he had but hadn't washed it out, he said it would be ok and continued with the soldering using a gas torch, luckily he had the fuel cap off but boy it went with an almighty kaboom and shot the biggest Orange flame out of the filler I had ever seen in a confined space, the space was an 8x6 she'd and I'm convinced the flames went from one side of the shed to the other, boy I shit myself and so did he, but this really made me chuckle , I can only imagine what went through your head because I know what I thought,
