Default Frame and arm jig build

Time to make this happen, have a feeling I'll need it soon. Been wanting to build for a while, since before finishing my tube bender.

I lucked into an amazing starting point for the low cost of $Free.99, and promptly hurt my back getting it into and back out of my truck by myself. It's all steel, prob weighs a few hundred pounds and the upper bar rotates like a rotisserie which should be amazing for welding parts in the jig.

The problem I have is, it's much bigger than it needs to be. As in long and wide, and while the weight is good for stability, it certainly isn't easy to move. Rotating rail measures 8' 5" between the plates (standard bed on my truck!!).

My first thought is to section the whole jig down by a few feet, weld it back together, use the leftovers for my uprights.

The lower rails are 28" outside (36" overall). If I cut the extra bits off I can weld them to the bottom like feet, with 24" between, it can sit on my bike lift table and be sort of captured on the table. Chances are it will live in the back room w the mill and grinders and bender though, so may need to make actual legs or configure some kind of table for it.

What would you all do?

I don't think I would need to hold a frame and arm at the same time, so could probably cut this in half, make the main beam 4'?

That would cover sporty frames, maybe leave more room if I decide to do a (hardtail) chopper of some kind?

Oh it's gonna happen, just need to formulate the plan. I like to measure before I cut, as the saying goes.

If I cut it short and decide to do a longer rigid frame, I could work around the length by having the rear axle support hang past the end of the jig.

My back is telling me to make it as light as I can. Hot shower didn't do much.

I've got a 2-stroke V3 that could use a full streetfighter build.

If something like that interests you, and I'm still around.
