Default Stem too narrow for lower yoke.

So on good authority I’m told, press the stem out of your old yoke and press it in to the new one and jobs a good un!

NOT..... the old stem is about 1.6mm smaller diameter ☹️

Best way to correct this please? Hollow steel stem and ally yoke.

Several of old timers here have had luck with pressing a bushing between the stem and the triple.

I know the bandit stem/k6 gsxr triple were the same.
There is a step at the bottom to stop the stem being pressed too far,
If I had the 1.6mm difference Id make an interference fit aluminium bush to press onto the stem (down to the step at the bottom), then press the stem with bush installed into the yoke.
One consideration to this is the step at the bottom, you would want this step to be wider overall than the bush to prevent the yoke falling off the bottom.

I cut it twice and its still too short
