Default Kawasaki z750 daily commuter/build

It's a late post and I'm terrible with updating threads but here we go(I do apologise for the long post). I've got a 2004 kawasaki z750 I bought it with 22000 miles on the clock had a very sheltered before I got hold it, I bought it in November 2018 in February 2019 it was upto its bellypan in mud anyway fastforward 6 months, I've decided the front and rear need a change so bought 2004 kawasaki zx6r forks for £65 they need new stanchions so bought stanchions at £115 each and the garage i took them too couldn't undo the stanchions so got them back out them. On ebay bought another set from the USA at reasonable offer of £115 plus the postage and customs came to £180 which sets were going for on ebay at the time in the UK but they had pitting anyway got email from company saying I'm getting a refund on the forks due customs forks are classed as restricted so no so back on ebay Again! Got another set for £160 and got a rear shock aswell the forks are in good condition the swingarm on the other hand was £25.

[QUOTE=CaptainMuckspout;3144422]These are the first set of forks I got, I'll do a post for each item and say what's happened or going to happen. The forks overall were good just the stanchions well you can see how bad they were the top yoke is off a 2003 z1000 and bottom yoke off a zx6r[Click image for larger version

do apologise for the photos being everywhere i'm doing this on my phone and I've got sausage fingers. The swingarm like said before is off a 2004 zx6r it was in bad shape when i got it so i cleaned it up got paint remover on it and sanded it down and polished it i lacquered it and looked like it had tiny craters all over it so had to remove the lacquer and had to re sand and re polish tried a different lacquer and it did the same,i asked a friend of mine does they put lacquer on after polishing and they said no because over time the lacquer turns yellow so ive removed another lot of lacquer and just waiting on the sandpaper to arrive 1st picture is when I got it and the 2nd is just before I lacquered it for the 2nd time

Welcome in!

Sorry to hear about the bad luck you’ve been having. Hopefully, it’ll be worth in once the bike is done.

(Btw, moved the thread to the build section for you. )

Later, Doug

I was browsing through Facebook and company I follow were closing down and he was selling masks at discount price I snatched the brute one up for £55. All I need to make now is a bracket for the 2.5" lights, and a bracket mount the entire thing to the bike, I had to sort some wiring issues out so thought whilest I've got the headlight off see what looks like with the mask, I can not wait till it's on,the last picture is how it stands now got new mirrors, bar and weights aswell to go on.
