Default Bench vice

A mate came round to give me some more welding tips and he mentioned a bench vice, just to hold things steady while welding so had a dig around and knocked this up.. cost nothing and gave me an excuse to practice tig welding. Happy with the results and should come in handy

What you want are called "f" clamps... Cheap ones at harbor freight.

On this side of the pond, the blue item in the background stamped No5 in pics 1 and 2 is what we call a bench vise.

Not sure what the right term for what you built is, but clamps like that are useful. https://www.trick-tools.com/BuildPro...ch_T51510_4212 is the same concept but they don't give it a name beyond "360 clamp"

A steering damper dampens steering oscillations. If it starts to leak, it may become a steering dampener. There's no such thing as a dampner.
