Still nothing from insurance on this whole ordeal. I'm not sure I even want to buy it back at this point being that the process of pulling the engine, getting a mechanical pump to ditch the electronics, and then trying to fit it into the C30 (checked out a few swaps, doesn't look like it's worth the incredible level of effort and time most put in, in order to do it) and I think I might just let 'em tow it away and call it a loss. Was a great truck, but, I've found a multitude of manual transmission models across the states for about the blue book value of my work truck. I'm not opposed to just flying out to some distant state and driving a new one home. Did a ton of work in the shop, C30 is in there where it belongs, and I've got a 4 bolt 350 from a van that I have had turbo plans for years with, a laundry list of parts to buy for the C30 (brakes, patch panels for rusted spots, nickel and dime stuff that runs over budget if it's not thought about from the beginning of a build) so I've pretty much committed myself to building a short run hauler that can still tow a car trailer if the need arises. The diesel truck compensation should put a good dent in the parts list. If I really want to get a proper rig, I'll sell some of the "never gonna sell it" stuff out of my motorcycle collection and fund a big truck, there is plenty out there for cheap... I just need the space to maintain something with 1000lb+ parts. The old lady is drinking again (I've about had it with her shit, but, now we've got a kid, so this could get messy real quick), I'm at wits end with everything, another winter hell is upon me and I wanted to be out of the snow soaked north 7 months ago. Fuck you "time", you move far too fast. |

It all works out in the end?
![]() It has been a trying, difficult few months. Today, I think things finally broke free from the shit storm that has been raining on my parade for longer than I care to think about. Despite the pain in my heart over the loss of loved ones, and the constant stress of being a new father with zero experience or help to deal with this madness, I'm pressing on, moving forward, and doing my best to stay out of the darker parts of life where drinking and avoiding problems is the standard behavior. Sobriety and courage to face every new day is at times a daunting task, but, for the better of everything. The selfless acts in life are usually, to me, reward in and of themselves as I've got a strange outlook on life and existence itself. So when I 'round a bend, and there is open arms and a helping hand waiting for me there, it always seems like an oasis of hope that things aren't that bad. Today was another in a long line of those days. I brought home a new work truck (manual, diesel, Detroit, work box, 1 ton, it's everything I need, nothing I want for) and I couldn't be more satisfied with the capability of it. All due to a close friend knowing that since checks for the car and truck are in the mail from the insurance company, I'm good for an alarming amount of cash. I'm weird about paying back the most insignificant amount of money/time/effort, so when it comes to, "I'm good for thousands of dollars on a man of their word loan", I'm a man of my word in a way that is indescribable. So ahead of actually having the cash in hand (the car check showed up, so I'm not empty handed, truck one pays for this new truck though) a little help from my friend(s) netted me the right truck to replace the old turbo diesel machine I lost. I try to outweigh my "fuck you" posts with "hey shit isn't so bad" posts, on this particular thread. On another positive note, I've got the parts for a "cage fighter" thread in my shop. Even though I don't spend a lot of time working on bikes anymore, I've still got a love for building cool shit. An all wheel drive Toyota that is totally obscure and strange might spark some interest, plus, I don't do the Instagram and shit, so CF is all I've got to share this sorta thing. ![]() |

Had a stuck bolt. Tried to drill it out, but failed. Took it with me when visited dad at work today (he has 3 phase welder there) told dad that i wanted to fill in the drilled part, put nut on top and weld it in. Dad suggested that i should just weld a bolt it.
So i found bolt, welded it around and started to turn, the bolt snapped. Fair enough, screwed nut on and welded that, broke first welds. Mkey, welded in the previously snapped bolt. Broke bolt head off. Dad stepped in, went from 13mm nut to 19mm nut, sheared that fucker off aswell. Decided "fuck that" and took forks to my mate who has the bike.
