A friend has a mobile dry ice blasting machine that he does as a side job. It's a lot like that dustless blasting but the media evaporates and all there is to clean up is whatever comes off the thing being blasted. If it won't be done very often it might be worth having someone come over to do the parts or cheaper too if you take the stuff to the person. To give an idea of price, he quoted a different friend of mine $150 iirc to do a C10 rolling chassis if my friend brought the chassis to the guy with the blaster.

The surface dry ice leaves is no good for painting, it's mainly used in food plants and that as a surface cleaner or by Joe Shmoe doing anti graffiti.

Absolutely correct. The company I work for uses Ice Blast to clean molds for plastic bottles.
All the dry ice really does is move the foreign residue off the surface of the part your blasting. If you want to remove paint dry ice is not the way to go. Powder coat or chrome... good luck blasting that off... would be better if you took the parts and had them chemically stripped. Just been my experiences.
Beez out.
