wait, what kind of bobbers are we talking about?
this was the first hardtail I built. early 80s suzuki GN400. GS1000 roller bearing mains, kick only, no battery, 5 wires on the whole bike. 275lbs wet. probably 25-30 horse. pretty fun to ride. traded it off for 2 XS650's.
Exactly. A shitty modded sportbike with the subframe chopped in half is exactly what I would expect to see in a "bobberz" picture thread, but most definitely not in a 'bobbers' picture thread.
no, cos that defeats the purpose of the bobber. a bobber was originally a bike that was completely stripped of all superfluous junk, and had the rear fender 'bobbed' or removed.
though I agree wholeheartedly, you can't just cut off the frame rails on a sportsbike and call it a bobber, you have to put some actual fucking work into it, like the above specimen (forgive me, CF, I honestly can't remember the owners name)
Is it wrong to revive a 4 month old thread? lol..
Sorry, but I just love old school bobbers, just wanting to see if more members here own some..
Here are the last 4 that I built.. (before and afters)
