Default headlight. do i have the right one for my bike?

wassap y'all, first post and i'm gonna try not to noob out.

bike: 2013 ninja 300

i found this unit from AUS:

https://www.max-inc.com.au/black-dua...roved-36-37mm/

i know that 37mm is the fork diameter on my bike but i'm not 100% sure on the spacing.

thank you for your patience with me, i've been working on cars for 20+ years but i've never done a project bike before so i appreciate any help that gets offered while i'm learning.

Being that the headlight side plates are aluminum, I would venture a guess that your years as an auto mechanic would lend well to making any minor adjustments to the spacing that would be required to fit the headlight. As far as my experience (huge small displacement fanatic) goes with bikes from the family of the Ninja 300, I'm going to assume that the current spacing on the headlight mounts is really, really close to your fork width.

No worries on being new to this all, I'm sure it seems like alot to take in at first , especially if you're new to riding at the same time. Starting with parts that only need a little adjustment to fit proper will give you a good amount of confidence to push farther, and eventually the addiction will take hold and you will fork swap your bike, get bigger wheels from a 600cc sportbike on it, and ultimately fabricate your own parts from raw material as plenty of people here have been through the same growth as you are likely to experience.

Welcome to CF! You've stumbled upon a great group of people that are some of the most helpful and talented I (and alot of others) have ever met. Got any pics of the bike you're working on? Even if it's bog stock, we love pictures!

I won't muck up your thread with a bunch of pics, but if you are looking for some small displacement inspiration, my brother has been building (and I do the posting) a 2012 CBR250R he bought brand new at the dealer, crashed at Midwest Fighter Fest playing around in the dirt/grass with less than 1500 miles on the odometer, and proceeded to completely overhaul the bike from end to end. Currently it is awaiting wiring... since paint, turbocharger, frame, suspension, etc. are pretty much all finalized. Down to the last steps, really. Going to be the wildest one on the planet when it's done.

The build thread can be found here: CBR250R.... dafuq??

i do. i've only owned her for a few months but i've done a bit, focused on weight reduction first and aesthetics second.

so far- 1lb lithium battery, the lightest exhaust i could find, an undertail i thought was sexy, clip-ons, rear sets, mirror blanks, and a rear peg delete bracket.

the weight reduction is definitely noticeable even with no power mods (yet), and i'm much happier with how it looks now.

i have a carbon tail section on order and awaiting manufacture, and i'm hoping to ditch a bunch more weight by switching from full fairings to headlight.

unfortunately, as i live in san francisco and don't have private parking, i've got nowhere to work on it myself- but i am friend-of-friend with a very good local fabricator (you should see his jaguar race car, it is pornography, but sorry i don't have any pics of that).
