Default Snow tires? How about a paddle?

I know some of you guys in the freezer areas have posted about ice tires before, but I don't really get ice. We get snow.

Anyone ever tried a paddle tire in the snow?

Yeah, a skinny bike tire will never float a bike. I can't see studs or screws scooping deep snow to push a bike forwards, but I also don't see a paddle gripping a wet/icy log or rock, though. I think the answer is somewhere in the middle or a combination of the two. But I have zero experience here.

Default Snow tires? How about a paddle?

Something like a motocross tire pattern will be your best bet...one made for soft and loamy dirt. Only problem will be finding something in street bike tire sizes. Maybe some sort of bigger dual purpose (think Klr or V-Strom) may have something close?

Well, I should have mentioned that this is going on a dirt bike, so sizes won't be an issue.
