I haven’t been a professional fabricator for twenty years, but my welding is still serviceable enough. I wish I was as good as I remember, though I am starting to doubt I ever was.

I am not kidding about having a spare head to make it easier to cope the fittings and jig while I weld. Of course the one joint I get lazy with and settle for a gap, and it pulled. Surprise.
Slit it and put it back on to start working out the turbo position. The flange still needs to be pulled back five degrees and spaced down about 15 to 20mm, to put the turbo back where I want it and give me room to route the blow off.

Starting to look like the picture on the box.

Pulled the turbo back in 15 degrees and dropped it about 3/4” to give me a quarter plus clear to everything. I have the blow off just tacked in place, waiting for the .065” copper sheet I have coming in to put gaskets between the manifolds before I re-cope the connection as it is going to shift in two planes. I will probably rotate it around towards the center, as well as drop the exhaust pipe down for some more clearance to the bottom of the engine. It is inline with the drain plug at the moment. Not sure if I want to make a pass through in the muffler housing, or have to drop it whenever I drain the oil.

I also strapped down the forks to compress them and check for clearance, looks like I have it in spades.

Getting my new-to-me B12 barrels and Busa pistons ready to ship off for machining, I notice two of the barrels are sitting proud of the deck.
WTF.
Am I fuxxored? Do I need to find another block? I know you can swap out barrels, but what would have caused this?
