Yes coal in tiny pieces. Notice a blower in the ground, it's a cavity for air passage underground going upto a grill on which the coal rests. The blower is attached to a cycle wheel through a thread that motors it manually. It kicks in serious heat in no time, taming that metal with a few strokes and 2 dollars, amazing how a technique so primitive is so effective to this day. These blacksmiths camp on the roadside in tents all over the country, sell pottery and bend metal for a living They can't measure and bend frame to size for lack of measurement but can correct it like u ask them to. I came to a point where the frame couldn't be bent or corrected on the dye. Another pic Shinyribs of the mechanism -

I saw the red housing and wondered if you were using it to blow air, but I didn't see how. Dude, that is one cool setup. I wanna build one now.

American suburb version uses a hair dryer or vacuum cleaner or leaf blower and charcoal in place of coal. Pretty much free to build.

Yeah, but it's cool doing it without electricity or petrol.

Confess I've not been able to make time to look this up on the forum therefore posting in the interest of time - considering the bird is a carb 1998, the cluster is all electronic input with all analog gauges, will I need any additional hardware, sensors etc. to plug in an Acewell or Koso rx2n type gauge or will the wiring currently powering the analog setup suffice in kicking up the digital parts of these present day meters? Thx in advance guys!

What gauge and what function are you worried about?

Most of those come with a tach wire for the rpm read out that gets attached to a coil wire, and a magnetic speed sensor you place at the wheel to pick up speed.

Are you looking to wiring it directly into the wiring of the bike and avoid those sensors?
