I got this info from some whore.

Caliper Swaps

It's been noticed recently that a lot of people want to know what calipers are a straight swap to upgrade their bikes with no problems, and without having to go to the effort of making up a set of adapter plates.

So if your bike is listed in the same section as another bike below, you can change calipers without any worries.

For ease I shall just call the calipers type 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

1 SUZUKI
Bandit1200, GSX1000R, Hayabusa, GSX750, GSX750 Katana, GSXR750 Slingshot, GSXR1100L, GSXR1100M, GSXR1100N, GSXR1100 Slingshot, GSXR600 (2001 model), GSXR750WR, RF900R, RGV250, RGV250M, TL1000R, TL1000S, Bandit 400 (twin dics model, all years), GSXR750 SRAD (95-99), GSXR600 (96-2000)
KAWASAKI
ZX6R (2000 onwards), ZX7R, ZX9R (96 onwards), ZX12R, ZRX1100
TRIUMPH
Daytona 595, 505, Trophy
YAMAHA
FZR750R, OW01

2 SUZUKI
Bandit600, SV650

3 SUZUKI

This chart came from Old skool suzuki. So all the calipers listed are typical swaps for suzuki forks. Honda calipers will not bolt up to suzuki, kawisaki apps. That's why it's so limited.

Honda and Yamaha typicaly run 40mm bolt centers.

Suzuki and Kawisaki are typicaly 65mm bolt centers.

I ran across a good list of swaps a while back. I'm trying to find it. I'll post if I do.

40mm and 65mm? If they have Brembo post mount calipers mounted on them on adapter brackets. :)

The 4-pot Nissin and 6-pot Tokico used on the Bandit/SRAD/TL/Hayabusa/ZX7/ZX9/ZX12/ZRX have a 90mm spacing, C-C.

The 4-pots used on the '01-'02 GSX-R1000, '01-'03 GSX-R600/750, the SV's, and the Bandit 600 have a 62mm C-C.

2001-2002 GSXR1000 6-pots will bolt right up to Hondas from the same year/timeframe that use the Nissin 4 pots. For example, I bolted them to a 2001 F4i and a CBR954 Fireblade. Just an FYI

BTW - The 2003 ONLY GSXR1000 Calipers are 4 pads calipers. 2004 are not, and going forward

The caliper seals on my GSXR 1100 w 1996 are shot (6 pot tokicos). I was thinking of rebuilding it but then I found a set of calipers for 05 and 07 Busa on e-bay. So because seals are so fucking expensive I´m thinking of just replacing the whole thing (price is the same). Busa calipers have about 10k miles and the seller says that they are in prestine working order. What do you think I should do?
Another question-are a gsxr 1100w 1996 6 pot tokico the same as 2007 or 2005 Busa 6 pot tokico?? If not what is the difference. And most important-are they interchangable (what obout brake lines??-can I use old ones??)

A lot of questions for you guys :)

Thanks :knucks:

Anyone know if the fork lowers on the new Bandit 1250 are different from the 1200? Would the "type 1" calipers work on it also? I'd love to just try, but being in India, I have a very limited selection of parts. Knowing ahead of time means I can arrange to pick some up next time I visit the states.

From zxforums:

The OEM tokicos and MC on the 04,5 10r's are good for grocery gettin and stops at the local java hut and thats about it.

The 06,7 zx6r zx14, concours14 all have the very same nissin calipers that are a direct replacement for all year zx10r's and provide the necessary decrease in lever travel, improved braking for repetative type trackday/racing situations hence the reason why many many owners have made the switch.

The Tokicos from the 05,6 and 7 CBR600, 1k are also a replacement for the zx10r's with 1 exception, they require 5mm spacers in order to fit the OEM rotors but otherwise another exceptional upgrade worthy of praise.
