Cheers .. well I've managed to get a seat base for my bike needs a little bit of trimming here and there and il quite sure the angle grinder will have to pay a Visit to the frame ...😁

After cutting the seat mount off and clamping the rear frame in to make the seat fit I then rewelded it back on. Nothing like saving money

Fits like a glove . Anyone would think this bike frame was destined to be a cafe racer 😁

Now that the turkey is out the way I can start back on the build .
I'm contemplating a mono shock conversion any thoughts on this ? Testing the waters before I butcher it up

Oops just bought a mono shock swinging arm off a rd250 , clearly won't fit . But it's an easyer way of getting a single shock brace and bracket with out fabricating one and cheaper and saves time . I'll still have to merge the two though . Bring on Frankenstein.

I always thought the yamaha xt550 (and a lot of old yamaha enduro bikes actually) had a cool swingarm and shock setup. Kinda seemed like a logical parts source for an older twin shock to mono shock conversion. Any shock you'll find for these are probably hammered and if you are going to be running a wider tire then clearance could be an issue.
