So I am now home from school for the summer and ready to get this project going.
This is how I got it a couple months ago...

I have sense put some renthal ultra lows and removed all of the seat. I was planning on chopping the frame so that all there is is where the sweatshirt is in the picture. Does anyone have any input on how to put a seat on there and what kind of a seat to use? I am also willing to listen to other ideas for a seat.. I also picked up a f3 header and a low industries muffler and will put pics of that when it is on.

does anyone know how a tail like this could be done? It is the stock seat but what did he do with the subframe?

He probably made his own. By some tubular steel and get to welding!

looks to me that he hasent done any thing to the subframe just taken off the seat unit and put the seat back on

what Davey said, i have removed the sub frame on my hornet and replaced it with a CBR600RR unit.
just about to remove my other one and replace it with a CBR1000RR race unit with alloy plate hand built sub frame.
the amount you are looking at removing looks about right, but all depends on what you are wanting to replace the seat unit with:knucks:

I just love the shape of the stock seat by its self. I think some work with either the sub frame or the seat pan will be required though because the seat sits high off he frame as it is now. Maybe it will be as simple as cutting down some of the mounts on the seat pan so the seat sits more directly on the frame?
Also plan on making a coolant reseviour, how big of a water bottle will I need?

big enough to fit around 200ml of fluid, with around 300ml for expansion, dont need to be big:thumbsup:
