I have a chance to pick up either the 1986 VFR700 Interceptor, or the 1985 GS550E....which one is gonna be more worth it to nut out?

Most of the early VFR's and Interceptors (other than the 1000) had shit cams (more specifically the cam races). Also the mains would begin to knock @ about 36000 km. I'm surprised you found one running:truestory: . The benefits of the Suzuki would be ten fold in that later you can also swap in a variety of larger motors without much trouble. I guess you know my answer...

I do, however think the older VFR's were cool looking rides and would love to see a street fighter version. If it was a 1000 I would say go for it.

well, here's what the ad said:
For the VFR: "8400 miles on motor, runs good needs voltage regulator and cosmetics. no title - $500"

The GS only needs some carb work done.

a bike with no title isnt any good, unless you can find a frame with a title....

unless you plan on: 1) never registering or riding it on roads or 2)be an uber hooligan and never pull over or get caught with it.

but a gs550?? man i hear about these things every day...finally someone at least wants to do somthing cool to one.

My last fighter was a 82' gsx650....I miss that bike...but alas, the coppers wanted it more than I did, I guess...:bawling:

As for 929 Adam's option #2)be an uber hooligan and never pull over or get caught with it.

--Done it!!!, and gotta admit it makes the rides more interesting. Not to mention the bike was a huge heat score as you can tell by the pic...Yeah sorry it's a chopper, Kinda.. Lotsa fun when the cops see the SS on the tank and you know you got no paperwork for it. Fuckem!! No signals, no front brake, no baffles, no horn, no highbeam, push button start. Never got chased but always shittin when the cops were around!!!
