just a quick question for the fz1 owners or anyone that knows
as the stock location of the r/r is the front left of the bike and exposed to the elements once the fairing is removed where would be the best place to relocate and mount it
pics if you can please

Under the seat/passenger seat is a common hiding place. Typically you can put it where the tool kit was designed to fit. They don't really need a ton of airflow. Underneath the tail near the swingarm pivot is a popular hiding spot as well.

Yamaha R/Rs tend to be huge , it might be helpful to swap a smaller/slimmer one in. I used one from a ZX14 on my Vmax, which convenient fit under the seat. R/Rs are almost universally interchangeable, they all take 3 phase ac in and output 14v dc, just the physical size varies and the connectors, though if the connectors don't match, just cut them off and use ordinary spade terminals (whats nearly always inside the plastic connectors on Japanese bikes)
