So, the first reviews are out on the new ZX-14, and they sound pretty promising, a claimed 200hp and 115 lb/ft. of torque push it along quite nicely! You can read a good first ride review of it HERE

One of the guys that did a test drive ran 9.98 in the 1/4 mile!!!!

A great quote:

"From what I experienced, the ZX-14 is so user-friendly that anyone who has ever dreamed of dragracing can take their bike out and have a shot at a 9-second quarter-mile, without changing a single thing. Then they can ride it to the track, compete with anything there, and then ride home in comfort on their bone-stock, 186-mph, 9-second, sport-touring motorcycle. Isn't technology grand?"

WOW! I just found this on another site:

2006 Kawasaki ZX14
mods-------slammed (tied-down fork, dogbone), no air filter. THATS IT!!!!
Stock pipes, stock gearing, 87 octane pump gas, stock tires. ABSOLUTELY NO TRICKS

60ft ............... 1.56
330ft ............. 4.04
660ft ..............6.08 @ 120.90
1000ft ............7.85

1320ft 9.36 @ 147.71

remember this was acheived with stock gearing, most notable was 47 runs in one day with same clutch.
At one point we made 12 back to back runs, clutch is UNBELIEVABLE!!! STOCK GEARING!!!!!!!!

Torque is unbeleivable, and allows you to leave under 4000 RPM and still have to fight the front wheel
Holy Crap! This thing is a factory MONSTER!

hahhah. true.

in europe it seems they just try to make em faster and faster. someons got a 600hp busa. and Ghost's 500 hp turbo streetfighter busa.

then you have america, where we add all the weight in chrome we can!

The other day I was driving on the highway (in a car) and I saw a 'Busa. Then I saw a ZX-14 pull up next to him, and look over and nod and pull forward a bit...

The Busa nails it (and obviously), takes off fast as hell, right past the ZX-14, and gets like 15 bike lengths in front of the ZX-14 before he even accelerates. The Ninja nails it and about a half second later had made up all those bike lengths and tore past the (still accelerating) Busa, who never got close again. It was pretty nice to see a Busa get his ass handed to him! :party-smiley: :rock:

thatd take a lot of chopping otherwise thats a super fighter or something.

Won't have to wait long i reckon, cos performace aside that front end is Nasty, i thought the busa was bad but the kwak has definatly taken a beating with the ugly stick:confused:
