2013 Buildoff Questions And Concerns
I chatted with Alex a little last night before I went to bed and we said that the builders in this buildoff needed some guidance of some sort. I didn't have a chance to get into details as to what that meant, but I wanna get the ball rolling now before I go into it any further with Him. Before I go any further I just want all of you to know that this buildoff means a great deal to me this year. I won 2nd place last year and due to the VS takeover shit got all crazy. No prizes were given. Feelings were hurt. I DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT HAPPENING THIS YEAR. I want to see the winners get their due and proper this year!
Post up here with your questions regarding the buildoff(for buildoff contestants only) and I'll bring his to the other mods and admins to get yall some cut and dry answers. I'm not sure what major issues(if any) are obvious to yall, but that's what I'm making this thread about. If you have any problems or concerns you don't want everyone to see then send me a PM. This is my compiled list after going through every build thread of contestants who may have finished:

Yeah...awesome. I need these anyone who claims to have finished to step up now with proof that it all got done before the deadline. That includes a build sheet, budget sheet and confirmation picture and/or video. I don't think anyone finished which makes me wonder what the fook Alex was talking about when He said that people needed guidance. No finishers=no winners=nothing to discuss/

From what I've seen only Erki finished.

The last post in my build-off thread was me saying my builds will go undocumented from now on due to the extreme slow pace and I too posted wondering if anyone even finished this year. This years build-off was a joke. lol
Yeah, i honestly would just consider mine a normal run of the mill build thread. Nothing crazy happened just the sort of stuff you see in lots of build threads to turn a bike into a fighter. so as for the buildoff thing, I dont really think there was much gettin done this year. Maybe next year people will pull off some crazy stuff like past years. If I still worked at the body shop maybe something cooler could have happend but not in the basement.

I suggest an extension. So everyone can get there shit together (me included) and give a good presentation. There wasn't an official rules thread on the details, we just went willy nilly off the deadline Adam made in the past. Which, frankly, with his absence is irrelevant.
All I'm saying is that this buildoff has had near zero leadership, and that's a problem. Mark, if you can remedy that, it would be great, and I'm willing to help.

An extension would be cool but I am going to keep on plugging along. I have my own deadline for other reasons to be named later, literally. I am Ok with being DQed for not pausing.
Wish I got an extension last year lol, oh wells. Would be a shame to have a build off with no real finished builds though.
I had been wondering when if ever any sort of structured post would show up for this years build off myself. Never saw anything so I figured everyone was just rolling with last years rules. Meh.... some cool work was done on some cool bikes, guess that's all you can really ask for right?

I didn't see any prizes offered this year, did i miss it? Figured people were just in it for the motivation the Build-off provides and the kudos.
Not my place to say i guess since i'm not in it, but i'd think an extention isn't really the way to go, it's just going to drag it out, and sets a bad precedent.

I think an extension is unnecessary and does indeed set a bad tone for any future buildoff/contests, prizes or no prizes.

Or another thread with rules if there was one, but i couldn't see another one specific to this year. Just feedback for future, not a real criticism. I realise there was a whole bunch of crapola going on at that time!
I say that if Erki was the only one to finish then he should win.
If he doesn't win after an extension....that would be pretty shitty.
This was the first buildoff I've been apart of so I don't know what to expect.
