Hi folks new to the site/forum. I'm putting together a nice Streetfighter 600 bandit. Okay with most things but stem on the M forks is way to short. Any ideas on whats needed. New bottom yoke????? Someone on here has got to have done this i'm sure and i could do with any advise going.

Forum looks great and i'll post up some pics soon.

Cheers Dan

I would think youd need the stem from the gsxr forks...but if its not right fitting in the frame you may have to chop up and mix and match the two stems to make it work.

have the bandit stem pressed into the gsxr bottom triple clamp.

does the 1200 lump fit in the bandit6 frame? i'd be learing about pumping too much cash into a bandit6, not exactly the best platform in my opinion.

I'm not after a big bike again , been there done that. I'm on a budget as its only something to take out for the odd blast. The bike will be nice as it will be well detailed . Not cos it has expensive stuff on it. Plus you can give a 600 a right caining:LolLolLolLol:

Yup you guys were right. Found a place that will swap over the yoke spindle , bang some new bearings on and sort out the lock stops. Boxed up the bits and sent off today. 2 weeks and i'll have them back.

Top stuff!!!!

If I had my triples off the bike, and the bearing race already removed I'd probably take the opportunity to get them powdercoated or at least rattle can them black in my basement. Just something to consider before pressing the race back onto the stem. good luck with the project!

Pretty much got it covered now. As i'm using a complete m front end it makes it very easy. The machine shop are fitting the bandit stem to gsxr bottom yoke and bro's fitting risers to top yoke for me this week. Even with new bearings its not that expensive which helps the budget.

Take it easy
