bought this zx10 of a friend for a whole sum of £200

this was to be my first big bike, it first time i ever done them. needed new tyres, a new choke cable and unit etc etc.

Got it all sorted and took it for its MOT, all sorted i thought, then on the way home someone crashed into the back of me and knocked me off(fucking brilliant:wtf:)

thought it might of been fixable, but no the subframe had twisted, so the insurance had written it off as a Cat C write off, which means fixable but cost too much for the insurance to pay out.
i bought the bike back from the insurance and found a new frame for £50, so at the moment it mostly stripped down getting ready to be transfered into the new frame, so while its apart im gonna clean/paint/change stuff.

how she sits as of last night

plans(not in any order)
black and nato green colour,
give her a damn good service, coz it looks like it not had one for a while
sort out wiring loom, its been chopped and bodged.
change the rear 18" wheel for a 17" from the zzr1100
derestrict the carb tops(restricted to 125bhp in uk) by by either milling them or swapping them for zxr750 carb tops.
not sure wether to keep the low bars or swap for some renthall higher bars
bar end mirrors
k&n pods
stage2-3 jet kit
would love to swap swingarm for a single sided, but not sure if able too( need to research)
USD forks
better brakes
already lost the chunky back end in the crash, so need to sort out a new rear light
twin headlights, also strap my gas mask to headlights.

thats it for now

i will be asking for info/ideas and HELP:doh:

motors out finally, everything has gone really smoothly with the strip down, until it came to the very last bolt, bottom rear engine bolt, 25 year old bolt fuck me talk about seized, in the end it took 3 of us to get it out, 1 person heating it with a blow torch, 1 person tapping it out from one end and another person with a impact gun. but anyway its out.

ready for a quick clean up and respray

I like the twin red light a lot!
Especially because you get a nice plate mount and the fact it appears to have integrated signals too.

I do like the slim looking smaller LED lights like the first one, but I just can't help but be worried about someone "not seeing me" hit the brakes or something like that. I stay away from them on my bikes, but hey they do look great on other people's :)

Keep up the good work!

got a little bit further today,
forks, wheels and started on the pain in the arse job, the wiring loom( which has been hacked to bits) loads of random fuses everywhere, plus my starter solinoid is off a series 3 landrover:confused:, more parts added to the list

took the purple bars off as im swapping them for some renthals, plus the purple didnt suit.

hope more people will start liking this build more as it takes shape
