sub'd... also your name is now 94yzf85? lol good luck man. no detail left behind! let me know if you need anything.
Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

Yes sir it will be mean aggressive looking for sure

I didn't get shit done today was busy watching my kiddos then I went and put a couple hundred miles on the r1. Fuck that bike is fast and now without the stupid stretch blocks it wants to throw the front wheel up every time you touch the throttle. It's fuel injected and has a lot more mods than my 99 did I didn't expect it to have that much of a difference but there is I love it.

Back to the build the motor will be mounted tomorrow so I can get the chain alignment right and see where I need to trim the 2mm off of. After that the front rim should/better be here and I can get it up to try to figure out the rear shock. I have questions about the rear shock and will be posting them tomorrow with pics I need advice on that for sure

Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

Question what would be the best way to shave 2mm off either the frame or swingarm? Should I just hand file it? I'm afraid with the grinder that I'll take off to much.
It's a tough call. I'd either mark the line and grind it back to close and finish with a flat file.

Or

Mark your line and use a hacksaw by hand, cut a little in, rotate, use your existing cut to line up, cut in, rotate, etc until all the circle has been cut, clean with file. That's how I've been making spacers etc.

I'd maybe go for the grinder option in this case because of lack of something to get the teeth into on the swingarm.

I'm in need of diagram of the Ducati 996/916 swingarm. The last piece of the puzzle should be here tomorrow and I need a breakdown of how it all goes together. Anyone out the have a PDF of it or just a pic will work. Googled has failed me in my search for 1

Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

R1 looks sick with that M4 on it. Tail looks sweet man, just too big for you?
Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

Yea i just thought it'd be a little smaller I'm sure it will look fine but not 100% sold yet
Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

I don't like race tails, I'd rather have a stock tail with a cowl.

What's up with the r1? Why u gonna sell now?
Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

I found another 05 636 that I'd rather track then the r1. It's a fun fast bike with a lot of upgrades but I'm going to be doing as much track riding as I possibly can next year and I would prefer to do it a 600. I want a r6 but the price on this 636 is to good to pass up. I might buy the 636 and wait till spring to sell the r1 for more $$$$
Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

I don't know what the engine case looks like, or how thick that part is toy need clearance on. My suggestion from what I can see is maybe split the difference? Of there is enough meat on the engine at that point, that would seem the safest and easiest way.

Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

Personally, I'd take it off the SSSA. I wouldn't want to do anything on the engine case... much rather have the swinger crack than the engine bust a leak.
Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

No room on the case to take anything off it's gotta come off the swinger. There is enough meat on the swinger I just want to see if anyone has done it before. It's to late to turn back I already permanently altered the frame
Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

I've seen people take a little out of SSSA's to have them fit. I wouldn't worry about the small bit you'll be taking out.

Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

Opinion time yaaaay......

Right now I'm sticking with the 3 spoke rear rim until I find a decently priced5 spoke sr2 rim. I hate it when rims don't match so bought a 3 spoke 03/04 zx6 front rim to make it match. But when I get the 5 spoke rear rim it won't match well I have a opportunity to get a 05/06 front rim for a good price. Should I get the 05/06 rim now and put up with the non matching rims for a little or leave the 3 spoke?
Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

are you going to be riding it between now and when you get the 5 spoke SR2 rim?

I didn't think so. match those babies up for some 5 spoke goodness
Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

If you can afford the 5 spoke rim front and rear, I'll say go for it, I like it better.
Re: 94yzf75fighter's "The Dedication"

Bought the 05/06 zx6 front rim the 03/04 with rotors is up for sale.

Now I need to learn about rear shock positioning what's good what's bad. When I get the front rebuilt and forks on so I can get a idea of how the swingarm will sit I'll put pics of it. Before that can anyone enlighten me on how I should go about figuring out the right way to do it please
