I can't afford a dirt bar setup right now, but I want the straight-across handlebars. I thought I could just swing my clipons out further forward to get the same result, but there are little tabs on the bottom that rest against the top clamp of the tree and prevent them from rotating forwards.

I've seen pictures of another F2 with adjusted clip ons, but no idea how they did it. Can I just shear these pins off so that I can freely rotate the clips, or would there be a danger that they would move around without them?

If you torque them on properly they won't come loose. How do you think clip ons on modern bikes are mounted? ;)

Yeah but thats $150 that could go to dirt bars, if i had it. I'm also going to try to flip them upside down and swap left-right so the tab is out of the way and the bars themselves are lower, at the height of the top clamp. Just an idea, I'll see if it works.
