A friend of a friend, a freqenter on advriders forum, just completed a coast to coast ride (as in he did the ride in JANUARY) from British Columbia to St Johns Newfoundland. Paul Mondor I believe is his name, he did the ride on a BMW Dakar 650. His coldest temps were -30C (-22F) or so, coldest with windchill (while riding) were -60C (-76F)

From what I read it looks like he had no major mishaps. He planned to just do the trip for himself, but he ended up getting numerous newspaper stories and even a few news TV reports and interviews along the way. The truckers that stopped and talked with him said he was all over the CB waves and they were watching out for him pretty much all across the country.

All this, and the guy just wanted to go for a ride...

I love those stories on advrider. Been a member over there for a few years. Very cool!
