What i am trying to do is remove my airbox and just put individual air filters on each carborator! i tested it without the airbox on and i have really low power! sounds good on idle, but will not go past 2000 rpms, im wondering if there is some kinda vacume the airbox creates for the carborators! anyone have any experiacne on the subject?

thanks for any imput!

You can't just take the airbox off and expect it to be good. You can go to pod filters, but you'll need to rejet the carbs.

In other words....you can add a bunch more air, but you need to balance it with a bunch more fuel...or else, it will run like kaka.

You should go for a jetkit with different needles/jets which can handle the higher amount of air
then get the carbs adjusted on a dyno
and you should be in good shape with your new setup

edit: ups - too late

yeah, ya need "stage 3" jetting to run pods. gonna have to go waaaay up on the main jets.

also, be prepared to be constantly fiddling with the carbs. air temp/humidity is going to have a MAJOR effect on how it runs from one day to the next.

you'll also probably lose some grunt in the lower rpms.
