i may be going to look at a tricked up 2001 bandit 1200 tommorrow, the guy said its had a gixxer 750 usd front fork conversion,
he said he's had to add k1 bandit 600 clocks for the speedo cable on the usd forks, is there any truth in this?
i'm new here just sold my k6 gixxer6, so am interested in this bike,
any replys would be much appreciated

bandit 1200 used to use a cable off the front wheel pre 01. y01 bandit runs off the final drive signal. just like a gsxr. yours needs no wheel cable so changing forks makes no difference. depending on what year forks they are the only thing i can see is you may need a cable delete to get rid of the cable at the wheel.

Im kind of lost in the jumble of the sentence.

If it ran off a cable drive speedo before hand there was no reason to switch the gauges out. If it ran off a sprocket pickup (most newer bikes use it) there would still be no reason to switch the gauges since its using the same pickup setup.

In other words there should have been no reason to switch to another style gauge if it was already cable driven or electronic pick up.

Side note, any idea who the chick is with the gun? LOL

He might have used early GSXR USD forks with the cable speedo - hence the need for Bandit 6 clocks ????

Anyway, get an Acewell for it and piss off the speedo cable....

that's probably the case, only b/c the early front ends drop right into the bandit, the later ones need alot more work to make fit since the steering stem is so different.
