Not sure if this has been discussed before because I couldn't really find result on a search:

When relocating the battery...how upright must it be?

Or does it depend on the battery type?

My reason for asking is that if laid flat or near flat the battery will fit snugly into the subframe and obviously take up much less space vertically.

What do you guys think?

Awesome...thanks for that quick response!

Well, I will need to buy a new battery by the time the bike is done so will make sure it is sealed and not vented or anything else.

Gel it and forget it

Sent from Motorcycle.com App
I was thinking of going that route myself...I do have a 10A gel battery and thought the VTR needs a 12A but now as I was typing this I quickly checked the manual and it reckons 10A. So I guess I don't need a new battery after all.

To my knowledge, as long as it's not upside down (sealed batteries)
Yeah, I saw on the gel battery I have it musn't be inverted (their terminology)...the two other old sealed one lying around have no warnings on them.
